The sun rises slowly, magically, and the entire Borobudur Valley appears. You are up high, on Suroloyo Hill, watching the Grand Temple come out of shadow. Yes, it’s an early start, but there’s such beauty to find with this experience.

Descend into the village and see a little of traditional Java, before continuing into the countryside on bicycle or by horse cart. Try Javanese Rijsttafel for lunch, explore Lumbini’s Batik Centre, and continue out to Borobudur temple for sunset.

You will experience both the countryside and the temples, before ending the day with a fine Javenese dinner at Pak Bilal, a local villager’s house.
