You may at first be bewildered as to whether the performance is meant to be an act of aggression, or an agile and beautiful dance. It is, in fact, both. The traditionally dressed men leap into the air with weapons in a thoroughly exciting combination of martial arts and dance. 

Kalaripayyattu is simply astounding to watch.
