Pichincha Volcano towers high above the city of Quito. It’s the iconic place to admire the city, accessible via the teleferico cable car. From the top you admire how the city expands through the valley, beneath the shadow of snow-capped mountains.
Taking the teleferico is a famous Quito highlight, combined with a city tour or a nice introduction after touching down in Ecuador. But for a more unique moment, a travel designer can arrange special permission for you to hike up the volcano.
A small trail will take you up the mountain, perhaps to the summit, almost 5000 metres above the city of Quito.
