Off the cliff’s edge, the water falls, a graceful white column going down all the way to the untouched sand beach. And from the opposite cliff, you look on, fascinated. This is where the mountain path has taken you, through a canyon and by waterfalls, behind a trusty guide who knows every step of the way.
Now you start the rocky descent and come to the rim of the ocean. Take off your shoes and feel the wet sand under your feet. On this beach you will take a well-deserved rest, and have your picnic lunch.
Then, back on the trail with your guide, who will take you all the way to the top of Pico Blanco. The view from here is magnificent. Remember Cortez and Keats as you stare at the Pacific, silent, upon a peak in California…
