Enter the dramatic realm of the rare bearded vulture and enigmatic eland. Dominating South Africa’s eastern provinces, the mighty Drakensberg mountain range is an adventurer’s wonderland.

The high grassy plateau is reminiscent of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Called Giant’s Castle, it alone has 285 km of hiking trails. Most though will settle for the short walk to the caves that have protected Bushman paintings created more than 2000 years ago.
