Steam rises and water bubbles at the Tsenkher Hot Springs, a place with huge spiritual significance for Mongolians. These therapeutic waters have been healing the locals for centuries and make for a beautifully tranquil place to spend an afternoon.
But there are no roads to the hot springs! So before slipping into the warm water, you enjoy a two hour horse trek through the surrounding pine forests. Short and sturdy Mongolian horses are the perfect ride for beginners and they easily find a path between the densely packed trees.
After the hot springs you will emerge onto the open steppe and there’s a chance to canter and gallop with the horses.
