Have fun like a true carioca as you learn beach games and sports on a Rio morning.
In “altinha” there is only one rule — keep the ball in the air. But there’s a catch — you can’t use your hands or arms. Also in “frescobol” a small ball must be kept flying, here by two partners who play with rackets. Beach football is a more informal variation of regular football, created right here on Rio’s beaches.
After sports, you will ride a bike along the beaches, and stop to drink the most typical beach drink — coconut water. Rio is wonderful in the morning and you will see how the city slowly comes to life.
