Magellanic penguins waddle across the sand. Thousands of them fill the beach, their marine tuxedos shimmering beneath Patagonian sun.
The abundance is unfathomable. You can’t count the number of penguins. 5000? 10,000? Yet it’s the intimacy that grabs your attention most. Penguins waddle and play all around you, as you wander the beach and marvel at their curious antics.
Tens of thousands of penguins come to Punta Tombo from September to April, to mate, sleep, eat, and raise their young. A local guide will ensure you don’t disturb the nests or penguins, and learn more about their behaviour.
